hi
sorry if help for this is posted elsewhere
but my central locking has packed up, on my mk3 2001 model
when pressing the remote, it locks then pings back up again.
sitting in the car the rear door and passenger side locks close then open
only the drivers side does not move......
the car locks on the key, but obviously i'd like to use the remote
is it a simple fix, or do i need a new central locking motor.
i went to frauds today to get a few other bits and asked about cost
they told me it is £117 plus VAT....JEEZ they had to fetch me a stiff drink!!!
many thanks
johnboy

Sounds like one of your central locking servos is packed up.
Listen to the doors in turn as you lock the car and see which one does not run.
Usually it's water getting between the window rubbers and the glass that causes corrosion on the contacts.

ok, so its not the driver door then, as that lock doesn't move like the others when i
try to lock the car.?

visit to local breakers, took remote central locking motor from a mk3 drivers door
for £10...
fitted it to mine, reprogram key fob, job done.
a few parts were tricky to do, but followed a 'how to' on here
and done it in just over an hour

Good effort.
I bet you're happy to put that problem to bed.
