I've bought a set of parking sensors which have poor install instructions so was wondering if anyone had fitted to an estate and where on the bumper the sensors were fitted? All but the bottom black trim strip has metal behind it which would make the drilling a tad more difficult....

if you get under the car mate,
and using a torch have a look at the inside of the rear bumper as their may be markings on it made by ford on the production line, for use if the car was to have factory fitted parking sensors.
because the mk2.5 focus bumper on all models has the markings in it for fitting sensors so yours may be the same,
it saves alot of guess work when fitting,
also pree has done a guide on fitting parking sensors to his focus,
the principals for wiring etc. will be the same for you too,
connect the positive for the sensors to the positiv that feeds to the reverse bulb so then the sensors become avitive when the car is in reverse only.

have had a look but there's a metal lining behind the bumper apart from black strip at the bottom but i think that might be too close to the ground?

i have found the rear black strip mate,
it seems that ford change the strip when fitting the sensors, its a good price and ensures you have no guess work envolved and your kit will be fitted 100% correctly they should just pop in to these holes.

cheers for that Pete, that was roughly where I wanted to put them so guess i'll have to get a 22mm metal holesaw on the job. There is a holesaw in the kit but reckon it will only do plastic...
