Well here it is. As fitted to the Austin Allegro way back in 1979. No manufacturer ever fitted one since. I quite liked it really.

looks good,
you could always retro fit a new wheel to your existing model i nearly broke my front teeth changing steering wheel before, i should have removed the nyt then put it back on by half a turn, before pulling the wheel off of the bolt.

is their any reason why no other car fitted one since ?

Yeh I fell for that old nut trick when I was heaving a mini steering wheel off back in the '60s.

I loved my Allegro Estate 1750, as far as I recall it didnt have the quaratic steering wheel as it was a 1974 model

ah the vanden plas version

The 1750 was a bit TOO big for that car but a great engine. I nearly bought an Allegro 1750 but it was a bit too pricey so I went for the Mini 1100 special instead. If only I had kept it it would be easy worth 8k these days.
