Full Version: Pressing Brake Almost Stalls Engine
Ford Owners Club - Ford Forums > Ford Models > Ford Focus Club
My car has now started to almost stall when i press brake, i can hear a hissing noise coming from around the brake servo under bonnet.
Does this mean it knackered.
It could be the diaphrams bust, but just make sure that there are no leaky vacuum hoses first, particularly ones connected to the engine...
its now started to almost stall when its on tick over and i switch heater on
battery either a faulty cell or the wrong type of battery ie not silver calcium do the dash test and check battery voltage
I would be inclined to agree. Dont rule out a faulty alternator, or drive belt as well. Im saying that, as braking reduces engine speed, and revs, and therefore alternator spin. If you hear the hissing inside the car, this is normal for servos, just make sure pedal hardens up after engine turned off, and pedel pumped a few times
