Turtle Wax did that??? Did you leave it on too long? an idea mite be throw a bit of carbon fibre vinyl on it it would look well and cheap too :)
Drich290195

I have mine carbon wrapped on Mk2 and it looks well and itl save you 60GBP as Stoney is after outlining above
Stoney871
I carbon wrapped mine too as the coating was bubbled just like yours.
It's the easiest part of the trim to wrap, half hour job.
Drich290195
£60 that's step where can I get this carbon wrap from
Stoney871
Look for bubble free carbon wrap on eBay.
3M wrap is the best.

Yeah all you need is a heat gun or as I used a hairdryer and does the job perfectly.
Stoney871
Have a look at my thread here.
Did some wrapping and hope it helps you.

This has happened on mine too! Was like it when I got it and haven't got round to doing anythin with it yet. I have a blue-ish interior though, so the black carbon wrap won't really work and I'm not keen on the coloured stuff. The best option I thought of was trying to remove the 'skin' the whole way round and leave the glossy plastic finish underneath.
Stoney871
You can get blue carbon wrap too.
gforce
Yeah, have seen it in all colours so that was my initial thought, but just not overly keen on the coloured stuff. A very dark blue maybe. My radio surround is a silver carbon-type effect, so was thinking silver might have been the way to go, but really undecided.

Any suggestions for something that would finish the job off in terms of taking it back to the plastic? Might as well give that a go first and if that doesn't work well, I can always still wrap after that.

Will post a pic of mine in a bit, if the OP doesn't mind the hijack!

Hi hope this helps i bought 1.5 meters of the cheapest carbon vinyl it was about 8 pounds but used about 2 pounds of it to do some of the dash and surroundings. I have never done it before but i had a good look on youtube to see how its done. the main thing you need first is heat gun around 15 pounds new. let us know how you get on m8y (:
Focus_IRE
Aa i said a hairdryer will do same job mate no need to buy heat gun :)
