hi i have a focus 1.8 tdci 2003 and the clutch bites high i havent had car long and dont know if its had a clutch its done 148000 miles do these all bite high or is it on its way out doesnt seem to slip either thanks

All the Focus I've driven, Mk1, Mk2, 2.5 have all been high.
If you have no slip and the car is pulling ok then I really don't think you have anything to worry about.
Stripping down to check the clutch plates will cost 2/3 the price of a clutch change so if you did strip down, the wise thing would be to have the clutch changed even if not needed to minimise costs later.

have to agree with the above my mk1 and mk2 have been high escorts high old vw passat was high thats normal with hydraulic clutches even brand new clutches dont have low bite points like old cars had

Pretty high on my mk 2.5, just shy of 30,000 miles. Has been since the day I got it! Feels fine otherwise though!

only time to start worrying if there is a thud or some other rattle/screeching noise that only occurs/disappears when the clutch pedal is pressed
