Hi everyone. a little bit about myself. I'm a Air Conditioning engineer and have always driven a Ford from my first M reg Escort 1.4 to a 01 fiesta and nowIi have a 04 1.8 Focus TDCi sport.
I have recently had problems with my focus. The turbo recently failed pulling in all the oil through the sump leaving me on the side of the road with thick white smoke coming from the exhaust. I have had the turbo replaced but now the performance is reduced and after about 15 minutes of driving I'm still getting some white smoke coming out of the exhaust. I have been advised from the mechanic that changed my turbo that it could be due to my catalytic converter being blocked from the oil that went through it and my exhaust. Before I go ahead with changing my cat i would appreciate abit of advice as to what could be causing this after a damaged turbo.

When a turbo goes and burns the oil you will get a lot of unburned oil in the exhaust.
A clogged cat will certainly be one result.

Im afraid your cat is dead. Your next MOT should confirm this, sorry.

Cheers guys. Hopefully that will be it and i can go out driving properly again!
