Hi,
can anyone tell me what this is? it has a split in it so am going to replace it myself to avoid a trip to the garage.
Luckily the split is on the top otherwise i wouldnt have found it. its been 'whooshing' for a few weeks and theres a slight loss of power as well so need to get a new one ordered, so i need to know what it is! thanks.
my car is an 05 focus 1.6 tdci
thanks again for any assistance!

Hi and welcome to the forum,
when you get a momment please join photobucket or a similar image hosting website then upload some pictures of your motor and link them to your thread here on the forum,

you may also like to have a look at DMB graphics website,
they manufacture gel badge overlays so you could change the blue oval to match the colour of your car or taste
http://www.dmb.uk.co...es-gel-overlays

the pipe that you have a split in is the induction feed pipe to add preissure to the inlet manifold.
first you need to go on to ford etis first : http://www.etis.ford...7E2312.fcvas505
enter your car registration and read the details of your focus,

if the engine is a DV6 then the pipe you require is FINIS1440440

and if it is a EEC7 then the pipe you require is FINIS1440439

and regardless of engine type it is also recommended when changing it that you also change the Gasket seal which is FINIS1509352 and less than £5

so if you go to your local ford dealer parts desk and request parts
the inlet pipe
and
FINIS1509352 is the gasket
they will charge you around £36.16 excluding VAT for both parts combined.
you wont need to explain anything to them just request the finis codes.

see items in image below.

im not sure if it is a dealer only item to be honest but as far as dealer prices go, its not too bad in my opinion
