Last night my central locking went crazy, on my mk1. I lock doors with remote and straight away it unlocks itself.

Ever since I had my car, if ya sitting in it with doors closed and lock drivers door with button on door only drivers door locks, but if you lock any other door from inside they all lock.

Am I right in saying it the drivers door lock that is faulty.

I can now not lock the car, even with the key as it locks and then unlocks.

it could be faulty wiring, an open connection somewhere that is earthing. this happended in my leon, a broken wire in the door shut caused havoc until i sorted it.

try a trick that may work open the door you will find holding the latch 3 torque screws remove the top one furthest away from the driver seat get wd40 and angle the straw in the hole pointing down at a 45 degree andgle and give it a spray replace the torque screw and try the dorr 4 or 5 times you may need to wait 5 minutes but if its the old water issue it should clear
