Recently some tyke smashed the window on my ford escort van....

I've rang up numerous amounts of breakers here in the south west but had no luck for a door with glass.

I need a front passenger door any colour for a 2001 Y reg van which makes it a Mk6 ?

Does anyone know for one or know if any doors from escort cars will fit ??

Hi and welcome to the club. From what i gather the MK6 5 door cars have the same door as the van.

Its a bugger cause i have a drivers side door for a van in the shed, and 2 doors for a MK5 van. Where in the South West are you?

Im in somerset.

So my van being a Y reg is a Mk6 model yes ?

So i need to look out for Mk6 5 door escorts at the scrappy. Should be a bit more common than the vans around here.

Yea will be the MK6.

The MK5 ones will fit but have the squarer door handle than the rounder one you have now. But the MK6 ones are the ones you want.

Ive found a passenger door local off of a 1999 Ford escort finess. Matey whose selling it claims its a Mk7 though ?

Is this correct and will it fit.

Yea that will fit. You may have to change the mirror, think the van one is different.

There is no MK7 Escort.

People get confused as there was a change over period where they went from the MK5 to the MK5b. A lot of people call the MK5b the MK6 and then the MK6 the MK7. There never was a MK7 Escort.
