I am picking up my 09 Fusion on Saturday 27th Sept but need to find a dog guard quick!

Does anyone have an opinion on this one from Halfords:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_377107_langId_-1_categoryId_165716

The car specs are 1.6 Titanium 09 reg 5 dr

The dog specs are 2 1/2yr old 38kgs choc lab!

I would prefer to get one that allows me to keep the parcel shelf in place when the dog isnt in the car

Thanks

I had one of these fitted to mine. It took a bit of playying to get it in right but it bit the job. Never tried it with the parcel shelf so do not know about that

do you think two mid sized dogs (malinois) will fit in the Fusion?

I fit a Mali, Springer and collie in the back of a focus hatchback quite comfortably plus the usual boot type things and they're quite happy.
Two Mali in a fusion would be workable.
Obviously males tend to be a bit bigger than females(35kg compared to 30kg) but it's mostly just body mass rather than length or height.

Btw, I much prefer Mali to German shepherds as they're much easier to lift over fences and gates.

hello, thank you for your response! I have an adult female and a male reaching adulthood.
Mali's are such incredible dogs!

Totally agree, My Mali was one of the first introduced into any UK Police unit and was bred by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Police.
She was passed over to my unit on the condition that she produced at least one litter to diversify the gene pool and provide more candidates for the MOD training and breeding scheme.
She had a litter of 9, 8 of which were accepted for service, the other one was unsuitable and went to a retired Police Dog handler as a well trained pet.
