I have a 2000 1.6 zetec se.

The engine I want to put in mine is from a 2003 focus, the only thing i have noticed that looks different is the mass air flow meter on the 2003 is on bulk head, mine is on air filter housing.

The one in pic is the one i wish to put in mine.

Someone mentioned the spline on gearbox may be different, and this engine may not fit in my gear box.


I suspect the engine will go straight in with out a problem, as everything on engine looks the same.

Any one have any advice please, on weather this will be an easy swap.

all i can say is all ford petrols use the ib5 gearbox from1995 up to the last mk2.5 so as far as that goes there shouldnt be an issue

older engine so you may have issues such as the maf as you said but the gearboxes are all the same its do able but there may be a few nightmares along the way almost always an auto electrician is needed at some point
