you can remove the PAS rack without dropping the sub-frame?
If you do need to drop it, could ou do it on axle stands?

I changd mine in feb. You need to drop the subframe and yes its easy to do an axle stands the hard part is putting the rack back in on to the splines need another person to help move the stearing wheels while you push it in
