I have been looking on the net about decarbing the engine and on you tube people are using water through the inlet pipe

Even on the VW tdi engines

Just wondered what other people on here thought about it

i would check some of the comments... i would be careful what you see on youtube.

Now I'm no expert, but that just sounds plain dumb. There's a reason water and the interior moving parts of an engine are kept seperate.

A small amount of water would produce steam, a large amount might bend conrods/ break the engine - i would not recommend it!

Terraclean seems to have become more popular

It would probably be a better idea to stop the carbon building up in the 1st place - by blanking the EGR valve etc
