Hoping to get some advice as to what has happened. Had my clutch replaced a couple of months ago which obviously meant the battery was disconnected. No problem just reprogram the radio and I'm away. However since having it done my front screen wash does not work!
Don't think it's a case of getting a pin out and cleaning it either.
1. I can't hear the sw motor noise when trying to use the front washer.
2. The rear washer is perfectly normal. I hear the sw motor and water comes out.
3. Front and rear wipers are working fine.
Before I drive 35 miles to the mechanic who did the clutch, is there anything I can do? I presume front and back run off of the same motor and fuse?

Yes, its the same motor etc.for both front and rear wash.
That said the motor is probably your problem and a good place to start.
The only other thing to consider is the front wash switch, do the wipers work when the front washer switch is pressed ?
Front wipers do not work when switch is pressed.

As well as powering the pump the switch also signals the GEM to start the wipers.
Looks like its going to be the switch then.
You mean the switch on the stalk itself?

Yes unfortunately, requiring a new stalk asm.
Thank you. I would have thought this isn't the fault of the clutch being replaced then?
Can source the stalk myself and fit it by the looks of it.

I know this sounds silly, but my 53 Fusion's front washer just wouldnt go. I had a look in the manual again, not alot of information. So I tried holding in the button for about 5 seconds and it works now! I'd try that if I was you, better than spending money!
Hope it works. Cam

Had the same issue, the switch on the stalk wasn't making contact - a little bit of tlc (force) and it started working again. I even bought a whole stalk from ebay but manage to fix it before it arrived.
