Hello

I'm having a bit of an issue with my 05 Focus Zetec 1.6l, there was a bit of flooding in our area on Friday and I sadly had to drive through a bit of it but the car was working fine afterwards and when I went back to it that evening the car started and ran fine.

However today I went to start the car and I noticed the wipers were in the up position, thought this was odd and tried to unlock the car using the remote but it didn't open, so used the lock and found the battery was completely dead. I eventually managed to get the car jump started after about 10 mins of trying and the car was running fine.

Stopped the car and was talking to a friend and the wipers just started moving on their own even though they were in the off position, this went on for a few second and I tried to start the car but the battery was drained again so had to jump start it.

We could hear a clicking noise coming from the fuse box in under the bonnet when the ignition was off and removed the relay that was clicking but the wipers still moved, we then removed the fuse for the wipers under the glove box which stopped the wipers moving but there was also a clicking was coming from the fuse box below the glove box and the relay under the bonnet. Took it to a mechanic and he checked the same bit we did and the battery/alternation but doesn't have a clue where to even start looking for this issue, does anyone have any advise on what it might be?

Thanks.

I'd say that you got water into the fusebox or some connections to/from the relays.
A good drying out and vaseline on the connectors afterwqards should help.
