hi hope you can help,i've heard that you can get you codes on the dash display is this right? i've got a mondeo 2.2 2005 ghia x.dont know if its different for each model or all programmed the same way.

TBH i'm not sure on a Mondeo , do you have trip computer?

If so you could try the same method as the Focus ,

Hold in Trip reset , keep held in and switch Ignition to position 2 , and keep holding trip reset for about 10 seconds.
