Can anyone tell me why my MW frequency station is giving out hissing or crackling sound when i'm driviing? I just recently bought a Ford Focus Auto Zetec 2009, this is the first time i have experienced this in any car,
Help would be much appreciated,,

Many Thanks...
I've always experienced a poor signal quality on MW. That's in all cars I've owned and that's a lot.
This is the first for me, owned others and they were fine even on a P reg ford escort, hearing that some of these latest ford focus have these problems..😡
IMPE I have never had a good signal with the MW wave! Its a bit of a surprise to me that you have seen a good signal on it
The MW is very sensitive to RF distortion, plug caps used to be fitted with supressors to reduce this (not sure if they still do).
I found i had a whining noise which increased with revs when I fitted a non standard aux cable to my stereo so I sourced and fitted ferrite core supressors on the wiring to my stereo and cured the problem.

Plenty available from eBay.

Many thanks, gonna get one and let you know the outcome
Focis are well known for poor fm reception mw is even worse stoney seems to have the right idea
Thanks Clive, ive just bought these gonna give them a go cheap as chips, could be waiting a while tho from China haha.Did you put on all 5?
One around my aux cable, rest on aerial, speaker live feeds.
Cheers Pal
