I'm trying to figure where to mount a tomtom (or device you need to see the screen of)

I bought one of these:

but the socket on my new focus is not particularly robust or tight, so it wobbles.  Also, I don't like looking down at the screen.  The other option was something like this:

Where have others put theirs?

I use a navigation app on my iPhone (which is in a thin sillicon cover), and it sits very snug just in front of the stereo display, looking like an in-built system!

I also have a Navman sat-nav unit, which I mount centrally in the dash between the rev counter and speedo. Just point the windscreen suction pad on the bracket to the bottom and it holds itself in securely without blocking the important dials - just covers the MPG/Trip readout. I like it there because it's discreet, doesn't block the windscreen up and doesnt leave rings on the window :)

I was going to order one of the CD Slotmounts but emailed them first and they dont fit the Sony system

Thanks for that... so.. back to the drawing board.  I thought the slotmount would have solved my problem.

I use my phone most the time, I have a TOM TOM ONE GO 30 series, which I have the old windscreen mount. I just tend to use it on an adhoc basis.

I use my phone , if i need to  , i attach it to the sunvisor.
