Hi All, I have just got my escort back today, no-one was home to receive it so they dropped it in the parking bay and posted the key through my door, the thing that has pis*ed me off is they seem to have damaged the car down the side and i don't know what to do? The car was deemed an uneconomical write off and while it has been @ the garage the mot expired on the 2nd of march and the tax ran out @ the end of Feb and we changed the insurance from the escort to the Mazda bongo that i brought! so where the hell do i stand with this, as the car has nothing on it, so this is going to cost me even more to repair than i expected! due to their nice little extra damage so any input will be gratefully received, thanks guys n girls. Does anyone know the answer to this? Will it pass a VIC and MOT without the spare wheel in the boot well? Oh and it is registered as a Cat c with DVLA

the spare wheel is no longer a tested item on the Mot test, even if the spare wheel is there and and a worn tyre fitted it wont fail a test, its up to the tester if he writes an advisory of the spare worn.As for the cat c write off, itll only matter if/when you come to sell the car as itll show up on an HPI check.Tim

I was sad to see her go but she has finally sold! At least she has gone to a GTi lover wanting the estate and not the saloon so almost everyone was happy

I had to let her go for £200

no Tax no Mot and no Vic check either so not too bad, could of been better but it was a write off and i needed to sell here asap got 875 off insurance so i suppose i sort of broke even but still gutted she served me well over the years
