As technology advances, more and more cars are being fitted with in car gadgets as standard such as cruise control, rear parking sensors, satnavs etc.

Ford Owners Club would like to encourage proper use of this equipement if it is available but NOT to the detriment of safety.
The driver is responsible for making sure that use of such devices is not to the detriment of road safety and also under the Road Traffic Act can be prosecuted for failing to pay due attention to the road/road signs/markings.

Drive safe everyone and help make the roads a better place for everyone.

Agree'd :) Remember that Driving aids are just that, functions that are there to help you, but not to replace your senses.

When Reversing, look behind you via mirror or preferably over your shoulder. When driving with a SATNAV, learn to listen to it, but keep your eye on the road ahead. Remember, SATNAV will be updated at best with a map once every three months, which means 24 hours after you download the latest and greatest, you could still be driving in an area that has been changed months ago, or even in the last 24 hours. No SATNAV is so far up to date that it knows everything!

With new technology such as traffic sign recognition in cars, again, this is no substitute, it is there to help you if you miss a sign whilst focusing your attention elsewhere on the road.
