I am thinking of getting a remap but Im slightly concerned that if and when my car goes into a dealer for a service, they might update the software and erase the remap .

Is this possible or am i being paranoid?

Also anybody have any advice as to best available remaps(im in Leeds)

Thanks in advance

If you get a superchips Bluefin remap - you do it yourself, it comes on a console that you plug into the car to upload the map- but the same console can be used to remove the map and reinstall the map as many times as you like - (e.g. if your car is going into the dealers for warranty work & you don't want them to know it's been remapped).

Something I was very glad about when my car started misbehaving and I was able to remove the map to see if the problem was cured by going back to ford factory map.

That looks like the safest option in the long term.

It's just a shame the power increase is low compared to other remaps out there

Most companies will offer you for a fee, the ability to store a map on their systems, and as such, you may pay a small fee for the time you are plugged into the PC whilst it uploads the map.

contact any perspective mappers, and ask if they offer any similar service.
