i have a 55 reg focus tdci cut out on the motorway, called rac the technician sprayed easy start in the intake started it then told me it was either the fuel pump or a sensor & advised me to drive it straight home which i did with no problems, iv replaced the fuel filter filled the tank & put injector cleaner in, the car had been acting as if it had a slight missfire for the week before breaking down only missing at low revs about 4 times on a forty mile trip. i had no engine management light come on when it broke down. any1 any clues????

I spoke to a diesel specialist earlier this year about my own tddi and they described what happens when the fuel pump fails, and apart from the fact that the RAC guy got it started again, it sounds like that may be the problem. I'm not sure if my reply is helpful or too late but I would get it checked out at a diesel specialists first as the pumps are very expensive.
