Morning all,
Over the weekend I split my headlights and did the blackeye mod. But was wondering what is the best sealant to seal them back up with.
I have heard a few stories about them getting condensation in and fogging up if not sealed correctly.
Thanks in advance.

The sealant that is on originaly is usualy still sticky enough to seal it back up again.

condensation shouldnt be too much of a problem as there are vents at the back of the light to allow for a little air flow to stop it happening. if you do get condensation, firstly leave the lights on for a while to see if that dries it up. if not silicone sealant will seal round the lights if there are any small leaks. preferably an exterior sealant rather than just general purpose stuff.

when they make these headlight units isnt there a vacuum when assembled, thus stopping condensation? i also tried doing a sealing job,but next day when i went out to car, there was a bit condensation arrrghh

Will try putting them back in oven to warm up and using the original sealent to seal them back up.
Once I have done that haut to be on the safe side would you recommend using something like tiger seal to go round the edges to to give it that extra seal?

tiger seals a great product so i suppose if you can afford to use it,then it wouldnt do any harm.(unless you're taking them apart again lol)

im not sure about the hids, but the halogen bulbs have vents holes at the back with rubber tubes on them to allow some sort of air flow, I think the idea is its to allow the moisture to get out by having the lights on if water leaks in round the seal
