Hi all
Thinking of selling my Escort Van but not sure how much it is worth.
It is an Escort 55 (non turbo), has done about 150k but has had a fair amount of work done to it.
Recent respray (18 months ago)
SI bumper and sideskirts
SI seats
General Mainatiance
Lower Arms
Break lines
Front Pads.
Few other bits and pieces for recent MOT (Feb 2009)
Also has tax to July i think.

Has anyone sold one of these recently or can give a rough estimate to what it is worth?
Thanks

To be honest mate i'd say it would be in the region of £400-£800.
Not worth a lot these days.

Heartbreaking as it is I'd tend to agree. Not worth flogging it mate, considering the money spent its worth more to you to keep it.

strip the good stuff off it, bolt tatty bits back on, and get 2 grand trade in on a brand new motor?
then flog your bits to enthusiasts

No point is there, its a nice looking motor just sadly its worth nothing. Whats the point in scrapping it for the sake of getting £2k off a new car he doesnt need???

He might well but considering he actually only said he was thinking of selling it and never mentioned considering buying a brand new car I dont think hes gonna want to see his, clearly after a full respray only 18 months ago, pride and joy crushed.

Thanks all
I know it would not be worth much, but I am after getting something a bit newer.
Will not get my money back but who does with cars these days?
I am doing alot of work on my house at the moment but the van is not that good for longer bits of wood etc or plasterboard, not sure if I will be better off with an estate.
I also use it to travel 20 miles to work everyday, I recon I could get better millage out of a newer engine.
Might start advertising it in a few weeks to see what offers i get.
Thanks

I know its been resprayed but it does look like a very nice van. if i had the money and was closer to you i would be interested in it as i could do with a small van at times.

to be perfectly honest, i havent looked at these vans in a long time but... i know that most of them by this age are buckets of sh!te, and have more rust than paint although yours is definetly an exception. At a rough guess id probably say £500-£600.
Are there any problems or is it just a very honest van?

Few little problems as you can imagine for a Van of that age.
The dash is tatty but have a new one to go in, and windscreen has a few marks, prob could do with a new one.
Most insurance companies will replace it for about £50 excess.
