Hi everyone.....I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me.....?

I have an engine from an "M" reg escort & would like to know if it would fit/work in a later model ?
As far as i can see there isnt much difference between the 2, mine has power steering so i presume id just take the brackets, pump & belt from mine and swap them over to the older engine, but im wondering if the electrical connectors could be different?

The only other visual difference i can see is the older engine just says "diesel" on the rocker cover, whereas my later van (2002 reg) says "endura de" on the rocker

any ideas anyone ?

From what i gather the mounting bracket may be different for the power steering but i am not sure as i done the endura to older Turbo diesel conversion.
You may have to change a bit of wiring for the diesel pump too but its fairly easy to work out.

Thanks vinny.....this older engine doesnt have power steering, so im wondering if its just a case of fitting the one from the endura engine (both engines are non turbo)

Forgot to ask....whats the rear bumper on that van avitar pic of yours ? is it a cossie one or talior made for the escort van ?

The bracket may well just swap and you can put the power steering on then.

Yea the bumper is a Cosworth Van bumper. You can buy them on eBay for £139.99 + £19.99 postage.

These bumpers from Phoenix-Autosport are far superior in quality compared to the cheaper replica's.

Well worth getting as they change the look of the van completely.
