I was wondering how i remove the boot gas struts as one of mine seems to need replacing??

Support the boot to take the weight off the struts (it is pretty heavy without the struts), at each end of the strut is a spring clip, slip a smallish screwdriver under the clip and pull outwards, you should then be able to pull the strut off its ball mounting.
