Hi guys hope you can help me here cos it driving me mad. I have a focus ghia 03 and a while ago i thought my battery was running out on my key fob, so i got a new one put it in and NOTHING. no buttons worked. I left it for ages and then found out about reprogram procedure. Tried this and still nothing. I tried the position I to II in 6 seconds 4 times and got the beep pushed buttons on key fob but nothing happened. So i tried the 0 to position II in 6 seconds 4 times, got the beep, pushed the buttons on key fob and guess what. NOTHING. please help before i go mad.

that re progeramming doesnt always work and ive seen the cars lock up immobiliser etc because of it the key worked so it wouldnt be a programming problem the fob may need fixed as the buttons wear out and dont make proper contact inside the fob which is what youres sounds like you need ford to check it it will cost but its that or no fob take the fob in and tell them the fob has stopped working better getting it hooked up as you may have wiped the programming out by doing what you did

make sure that the battery is in right way round and is makeing contact with the meatal pins in the key
happen on mine bit of bending and all was fine hope this helps

I have a 1-year-old Fiesta, and its remote is sometimes hesitant to open the car. I asked the dealer a fortnight ago at its servicing time, to check it out, and was later told that is just the way they are. However, I did find out that when fitting a fresh battery (and check its volts), don't touch the faces of the battery, as finger-oils will give a poor electrical contact.
