I've seen a couple of 2008 Ford Focus's for sale in the 2nd hand market. One was a 2.0 TDCI Titanium but it had a full ST body kit, alloys etc, and the other was a 1.8 TDCI Zetec with an ST body kit that even had the recaro seats, twin exhausts etc.
My question is where do these models come from? Are the body kits likely to be factory fitted? If so, why/how are the factories making these models? Are they special orders? There doesn't seem to be any options for ST body kits when buying a new (non-ST) Focus.
Anybody know anything about this? I'd really like an ST-looking Focus but without the insurance premiums and with better fuel economy.

more than likely aftermarket kits.

Sorry what's an aftermarket kit? You mean someone fitted the kit themselves rather than factory fitted? Here's a pic:

It's pretty easy to make even an LX look like an ST...body, alloys, trim and accessories are available all over the internet and ebay. Some parts may come from scrap genuine ST's or you can buy body parts that have been primed and are ready to be painted - quite an expensive route to get it looking like something it's not.
