Hi all, had a bit of an unfortunate prang the other day.... I rear ended a Skoda (i'll skip the main details), and unfortunatley, my Fiesta came off worse. The front grill popped out and was subsequently driven over by the 2 or 3 cars behind me who cracked after we pulled to the side of the road, and the headlight unit on the passenger side has split open.

Now I've managed to get both parts off ebay, and should be in my posession midweek. Does anyone on here have experience of replacing a headlight unit? Any tips on what steps I need to go through? Should I bite the bullet (being an experienced car user) and take the vehicle to a garage to charge me the earth to fit the items?

The other knock on effect I have noticed, is that the dipped headlights seem to be a bit more dipped, I'm only get a 2 metre clearing from the the front of the car to where the end of the main core of light is shining, and the full beam is consideably weaker....

Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated..... I'm third party fire and theft so have to sort my own car out, after admitting the accident was my fault. The car itself is actually running fine, I've kept an eye on all the levels, temperature is normal, there's no leaks and no ominous sounds as a result.

As I say, any help/advice would be greatly appreciated....

ps - The skoda only got a nice black mark on the bumper, and the owner admitted that he wasn't sure whether it was there before anyway, so said he's unlikely to claim as his car is fine.
