Hi, Went to start my Focus this morning and nothing.Lights on dash, but not even attempting to turn over. Try several times and then suddly it started. Appears to be ok at the moment, but concerned as to why this happeaned.Has anyone got any ideas?
Its a 1.6 Zetec on a 1999yr Petrol.

Hello have had the same problem

would not start at all this morning called RAC out and he said it`s the starter motor

Never give that a thought. Have you got yours sorted now?

yep, starter actuator....give it a wack with a mallet or a hammer and a piece of 2x2 whilst someone is trying to start the car and it usually goes...I did this for 3months before I gave in and bought a new starter!!
