I'm having problems with the locking system on my 51 plate 3dr 1.6 focus. It unlocks perfectly fine with the key remote but when you go to lock it, it seems(sounds) like its trying then weird noise and unlocks again. It will unlock and lock fine when using the key itself. Sat in it the other day and tried locking it and the passenger side lock button goes to lock position but drivers side doesn't. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

Sounds similar to how mine was, I fitted a second hand door lock assembly [off ebay] which cured the problem.
The job is a bit fiddly, especially getting the unit in and out of the door, but not too difficult.

yeah, be a stiff lock mechanism somewhere likely the drivers door....need to try to lock when stood with ear next to each door to see which one is the culprit!
