  1. Rear Mudflap Fitting

Very easy to fit, just require patience. I put ford ones on the front and back of my car in the dark with no experience so you should be fine! Instructions come in the packaging and are pretty clear. Plastic clips you have to remove to fit the flaps are a complete b*****d though. EDIT: No need to remove road wheel btw, there is enough room for manoeuvre.
  2. Matt Black Vinyl Wrap!

Would love to see how it looked! I'd never have the patience
  3. How Easy Is It To Change Break Pads And Discs

I changed my own on my last car and it was a relatively simple job. There are some clips from memory (was a couple of years ago) which were a pain to get off but managed it all with a basic tool set and the special "ford" allen key. you will need to buy that allen key specifically, i bought 3 different sets before i found i could only get it on its own.
  4. Mk7 Heated Windscreen

They did the heated screen in my last fiesta too with that resin. Was still fine afterwards!
  5. This post seems to have all the info: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5008&view=findpost&p=39612 Extract: "Anti Hijack Feature 1. Turn on ignition until the dash lights come on but don't start engine! 2. Lock the door using the lever on the door handle and then unlock 3 Times 3. Turn off ignition 4. Repeat 2 but with ignition OFF 5. Turn on ignition - should hear a beep 6. Lock door again as in 2 BUT ONLY ONCE - final beep should be heard 7. Done! Doors should now lock at around 5mph. including reverse!!!" Don't know if any of it works though, have only attempted the drivers door one in the previous posts.
  6. Just tried this and can confirm that it works! B)
  7. I get it too but has only started in the last week or so (something to do with the nice weather?) Will try that earthing idea to see if it works!
  8. Fiesta Mk7 Paintwork

Thought so. Will have a look for the auto glym stuff, need to check out the detailing thread anyway!
  9. Fiesta Mk7 Paintwork

Just been to pick it up. Said that the paintwork is fine, nothing out of the ordinary. If it gets worse then bring it back but it is likely that any warranty claim would be rejected as it is now. Mentioned that the Ford diamond brite thing might help but from what i have herd on here i think i will be avoiding that and hoping that the bulk of the marks will polish out.
  10. Fiesta Mk7 Paintwork

I'm glad i'm not alone then but surprised at some of the things above. Shame I don't have any connections in the business :( I have asked the manager to check the depth of the paint but may also get an independent second opinion. Does anyone know what the standard depth of paint coverage should be? Also, would a thorough clean & wax etc help to protect the paint? It does seem to be the case that the plastics, i.e. mirrors/bumper seem to scratch more easily than the metal work so kinda matches what you're saying silverfox. Hillmangimp, i just meant that i would see if his car is showing the same kinds or wear on the paintwork that mine is to compare.
  11. Fiesta Mk7 Paintwork

Will have to have a look at the clio, my brother got a 59 plate just after i got mine. such a shame that ford can be let down so much by niggles like this. i suppose they can get away with it when most owners just buy it as a run-around and don't really care, its just frustrating when you do everything you can to look after it and you can't avoid marks etc.
  12. Fiesta Mk7 Paintwork

Have just dropped my car into the ford body shop this morning to get the wheel arches resprayed due to flaking (like some others on here) and i mentioned to the manager about checking the paint quality/depth on the car because it seems to be scratching really easily. He said that it was a common thing with the ocean blue and black colours that they seem to show scratches mere than any other colours! has anyone else noticed this or is it just my car? example is when i was hovering the boot the plastic pipe brushed against the lip of the bumper and scratched it lightly. surely the paint should stand up to more punishment than a brush from a plastic pipe! Never had any problems from old fiesta (1996) and i'm obviously looking after this one way more!
  13. Mpg Gone Wrong?

Did you fill it last time you got petrol? If so, fill it again and keep a note of your mileage and then enter the info here http://www.torquecars.com/tools/uk-mpg-calculator.php should give you your actual mpg to compare to what the car says B)
  14. Myth Or Truth?

Yes, technically, you'll get better mpg on a half tank than a full one. "Red-ex" will clean the fuel injectors etc in your engine if you did notice a drop in performance if its been sucking up the slag, its a fuel additive you put directly into the tank.
  15. Colours

Ditto, gotta love the exclusivity! B)
