  1. They have a Ding & Dents in Bristol, so I'm going to give them a call as soon as I get the time. My car goes into a service next week, so I may just ask the garage to give me a quote and if it's under £100 then I will just let them do it. I can't stop staring at the dent though, makes me want to cry :(
  2. Thanks guys, Dings & Dents look good so I will see what they quote. £40 sounds reasonable though. I was expecting it to be about £100-£200!
  3. I'm devastated as I found a dent in passenger door last night :( I just came home from a 4 hour drive and I thought I would just give my car a check as the weather was terrible. The rain had managed to clear all the dirt that had accumulated over the past 2 months but it also revealed a nasty dent in the passenger door It looks like someone has hit my car with their door. But I have no idea when it would have happened as I use various car parks every day and my car was absolutely filthy, so it might have been covered for a few weeks. The dent is probably 2 inches long and looks more like a crease. It hasn't removed any paint, but it's noticeable if you look along the body of the car in the light. Does anyone know if this can be removed and the likely cost? I'm not sure if I should go to the main dealer, as I have a service next week, or find some dent specialist? It's probably not that big, but I've been so careful for a whole year and always go out of my way to make sure I park somewhere with no cars close by. Also, my car is a lease car, so I need to get it fixed or else the leasing company will charge me an extortionate amount to fix it.
  4. Thanks guys, the only reason why I wanted to get it serviced now is because I'm moving from Bristol to London at the end of the month, so I'm hoping it will be cheaper in Bristol and I already know a good garage. I wanted to know if it was possible to do it early without voiding the warranty. I will probably try and get it done the week before I move, from the check list it sounds like it's going to take all day to service.
  5. My car was registered on the 3rd of March 2010, so I need to have it serviced before that date. Do you know if it's possible for me to get it serviced right now and not void the warranty or is too soon? Also, how much did you pay for your first service? This is my first new car so I have no experience dealing with servicing so any advice is much appreciated! Cheers!
  6. Of course taking my foot of the floor would help, but it's not going to give me nearly 500-600 miles from a tank! Even when I was averaging 54MPG I was only getting about 380 miles. I'm wondering if I have a problem with my car as the MPG seems very low compared to everyone that has posted.
  7. Wow, how do you manage that?! I barely get 350 miles from a tank. My MPG was averaging at 50-54, but recently it's dropped to around 47-48 even though I'm still driving with my foot stuck to the floor. I have the old 1.6 TDCI, but it's only done 6000 miles.
  8. Went to Ford today and they are going to replace the pipe tomorrow under warranty and it's supposedly a 30 minute job. Might be worth replacing before the whole thing falls off!
  9. Sorry to bring up an old thread, but did you get this fixed or has it got worse? Yesterday I noticed a pool of oil on the engine block coming from a gap in the join between two rubber/plastic pipes. I've booked it in for a check, but I'm quite concerned!
  10. How old is your car? Mine rattled and squeaked a lot from the rear left of the car when new. However, I was able to dampen the noise by placing some weight on that side in the boot. But now after 7 months the rattles have disappeared completely.
  11. Ordered mine from Shopto yesterday and it's in the Post now! I want to play it now! What is the online multiplayer like? I heard there is only 12 cars :( When the AI cars crash out, do the stay on the track side or do they disappear? BTW, Shopto only £31 compared to £40 in GAME or Play.
  12. Just to reiterate what other have said, you're always going to have the odd problem with anything mechanical. Every car on the market now will have a history of problems which customers have experienced. Most people will not have a problem, but you will always get a bad egg. Just look at the Toyota problems earlier in the year, when everyone presumed Toyota's were highly reliable. There was even a story about a dozen Ferrari's spontaneously combusting in the past few months http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/11071047 Anyway, the chances are you've just been lucky with your past cars to have no issues, so it's understandable to be worried. But really you will always have the same problem if you worry about the reliability of every car you buy. I've had mine for 6 months and so far I've only had a loose door seal, which Ford fixed in 10 minutes and it has been perfect ever since.
  13. if you pm me your address i will post some down to you free we have hundreds at the shop. Thanks very much, PM sent :)
  14. Ok cool, I wasn't sure if there was any legal requirement. It just looks ugly with the bare screw showing and I wasn't sure if any cap would fit. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
  15. I don't know how, but this morning whilst closing the boot one of the number plate screw caps shattered and fell off. Has anyone replaced these caps and can you recommend one to buy? I'm not sure if it's a universal size screw and then I could just buy these: Screw Caps Also, it was the yellow cap that broke, do I need to replace with the same colour? Thanks in advance! Liam
