  1. Hi all, I have a Ford Fiesta Edge from 2010. I remember a year or two ago, I discovered a way of getting a lot of extra information on the dashboard, so that when you press the "Trip" button it tabs through lots more information (instead of the usual ones like average fuel economy, how many miles of fuel is left, trip distance, etc.) It was something like "Hold down the trip button while turning on the engine", but I just tried that and it didn't work. Does anyone know what you have to do?
  2. James: yes, they sounds a lot like the problems I was having. I'd recommend installing the update I did.
  3. Just read the instructions again; says to download the zip file and extract it to the highest level directive! Arghh! I must have read that as 'save it'. :)
  4. As my second post said, it has worked now that I extracted those files out of the zip and put them on the root. It was a Sandisk Cruzer Micro 2GB stick.
  5. UPDATE: It's started working again now that I've applied the software update via USB stick! See this thread: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/28714-should-the-software-update-work-with-my-fiesta/page__gopid__154655 Whew. I think I earned that fix.
  6. UPDATE: I just tried the solution suggested in this thread: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/28277-fiesta-mk7-usb-software-update/page__st__15 Extracted just the two *-AT.bvc and *-AT.vbf files onto the USB stick root and tried the update procedure. It still said "USB no files on device" when plugged in, but when I turned the ignition to II, it started updating!! Took about 20 minutes, and now Bluetooth is working again! Why on Earth do some Ford Sound Systems not recognize the zip file though? Heh.
  7. There is a software update mentioned in this thread: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/26672-problems-with-bluetooth-audio/ Which can be downloaded from here: http://www.ford-mobile-connectivity.com/downloadsUpdates However, the ford-mobile-connectivity.com page gives pretty much no information on what 'versions' of Ford Sound System the update is supposed to work on. I can't seem to get mine to update and I'm wondering whether it's even supposed to work on my one. My car is a 2010 model Fiesta so I'm assuming it's a Mk7, though the screen is nothing like the one depicted in the YouTube video (which actually depicts a Mondeo) - mine is just orange text on black, not full colour. Should the ford_audio_update.zip update work somehow with my sound system? I've formatted a USB key as FAT32, and put that file in the root, and the screen just displays "USB no files on device" when I plug it in - no update. Seems that Andy09 was having the same problem in that thread, but resolved it "Doh, just tried again and it's doing it now. Didn't turn the ignition enough, needed one more click!" - if you're reading this, did your radio ever display anything other than "USB no files on device"? Mine still does nothing. Arghhhhhh! :(
  8. No I haven't changed them, but I don't think that's the problem, because Bluetooth was working fine until a few days ago when it suddenly stopped. I can get into the menu, and when I press 'debond' it asks whether i'm sure; I press 'Yes', and nothing happens. The phone doesn't appear debonded. :(
  9. I got my Ford Fiesta Edge about a year ago, and until now the Bluetooth connectivity has been working fine, but I've got a feeling that now, some firmware bug has occurred. :( My phone (Android htc Desire S) no longer pairs with the Ford Audio automatically, or indeed at all. If I go into 'Phone' in the menu, and try to even turn Bluetooth off, the Bluetooth checkbox briefly unchecks and then gets checked again. I can't even seem to turn the Ford sound system's Bluetooth off. Can't pair the phone with the sound system, I just get the error "HTC Desire S Activation Failed"; can't debond the device either; nothing happens. Does anyone know what might be the problem here and how I might fix it?
  10. Aaaaand the winner is... artscot79! Took it to a dealers and 3 of their mechanics took a look at it, all said that it was perfectly normal. Shame I am lumbered with one of the air con pumps with a loud click when it comes on, though. You really can hear quite loud it even with the engine on and the bonnet closed! It makes it sound like there's something wrong with the engine. Presumably better quality air con systems are designed not to make this noise... at least, not so loudly.
  11. Why would it be doing it on such a regular basis though? Seems like there's something wrong if it's doing it all the time, i mean air con isn't meant to cause tapping every 20 to 40 seconds is it?
  12. Hi, There's a loud tapping noise coming from my relatively new Fiesta's engine (3000 mileage) every 20 to 40 seconds, but I suspect it's the air con because it only happens when the air con is on. It taps immediately when i press the air con button at the same time as the air con fan spins up, and after that every 20 to 40 seconds. I've recorded the sound of it tapping and attached it to this post. It taps at 00:10, and 00:34, I close the bonnet at 00:39, then it taps at 00:56, and 01:17. Any ideas what the problem might be and how easy to fix? How serious is it? What is it with me and air con? The !Removed! thing always goes wrong on me... acclick.mp3
  13. So you reckon the one and only solution is to pay over £100 to get it done professionally, eh? God knows how you guys afford these car things.
  14. Oh, and to reply to myself, I'm pretty sure my car's paint colour is Colorado Red.
  15. Does this touch up pen kit look OK? https://www.allenparts.com/ford/acatalog/Ford_Focus_MK1_Touch_up_paint.html#a603
