  1. Sorry - I have already posted this in another thread, but decided perhaps it was the wrong place so will post here instead - duplicate I know, but I am keen to get any suggestions before throwing money at a bad/unsuitable garage. Hi, I have a ford focus 2002 that has started stalling for no apparent reason, it has always had a low idle since we got it, and I have had the speed sensor replaced (apparently) but it still idles as if it is going to stall just never has until now. Now I want to take it to a garage, but having just moved to the area I dont really want to waste time and money on garages who may not be upto the job, so any recommendations? Otherwise what do you think about the choice between back street garage or ford dealership? I was thinking of going to Ford because they are most likely to have the experience and computers to get to the bottom of it quickly and so in the long run be cheaper - or is that flawed thinking??? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

  3. Mk1 Focus Fan Problem

Gonna state the obvious so sorry if I sound like I am insulating your intelligence but you can set the temperature and fan speed dials to a certain position that will cause the engine fan to be on constantly, I think they are coloured orange on the dials, took me a while to work out why when the other half was driving the car the fan was always on.

  5. Mk1 Focus Ib5 Vss Removal

You have gone further than me, I got the pin out but it wouldn't shift so have given up for now. been a weekend since your post so you may have sorted it, if you did please tell me how you got on but... I am no mechanic nor do I have much experience so my terminology may be wrong but have you removed the fill cap on the gearbox? because suction will be fighting you, if you do remove it make sure it on level ground because apparently the filler hole is also the level mark. Would be interested to know how you got on as I have now panicked and stopped doing mine for a moment. **EDIT** Didn't read the OP properly.
