  1. Hi, ive recently had just about the same problem , when you start do you get black smoke and when you first run it does it feel like a bit jerky like having a choke out on a older car if so i would look towards the injectors, these are quite expensive unless you go on find a part or ebay but make sure you have it diagnoised first. dont just take my word for it, but dont go to ford as there are mega expensive and like to do test after test and a nice bill after , speaking from experience. To replace the fog light bulb remove the plastic cover and you will see 3 screws holding the lamp in , remove these and you will be able to pull the whole unit out the release the bulb holder ..job done .. good luck
  2. Hi, yes knocking only started after having injectors changed, i would hope everything was done properly regarding recalibrating and recoding i did take it to a really good diesel specialist, ive got all the power but its the knocking that im worried about, when accelerating and when dipping clutch after about five minutes or as soon as its warm it does settle down , could it be a faulty injector, thanks for your reply
  3. Hi , IVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH MY 02 TDCI 130BHP , BUT THE LATEST ONE IS IVE JUST HAD ALL FOUR INJECTORS CHANGED AND IVE GOT A KNOCKING OF THE ENGINE WHILST ACCELERATING, COULD THIS BE THE KNOCK SENSOR? OR HAS ANYONE GOT ANY OTHER IDEA HAS TO WHAT IT MAY BE , THANKS
  4. Hi , ive had several problems with my 02 mk3 mondeo tdci, ive had the cam shaft sensor, crank sensor , glow plugs and manifold gasket done after i broke down, its also been on 3/4 diagnostic machines but nothing as shown as being a problem. when i start it up in a morning it runs lumpy with a growling tappit noise, its like having a choke on but as soon as its warm it runs fine , not lumpy or growing, my garage rekons its possibly injectors ,does anyone agree with this ?, if so if its not showing on a diagnostic machine what test should i have done to see if it is injectors. Then do i go for refurbed injectors , any advice welcome...thanks
  5. thanks, any idea how much to refurb?
  6. Hi , after several problems with my 02 mk3 tdci my garage has come to the conclusion that i need one or two injectors, obviously i dont want to pay ford prices , there are several on ebay but how do i know which ones i need and is it possible to fit one or two as i was led too believe you need to change all four, thanks
  7. Hi , i had the same problem on a 2002 tdci and it turned out to be the bonnet catch, got one from ford £57 easy to do yourself took me 20 mins never had a problem since
  8. thanks thats not something thats been looked at i will give it at look over the weekend
  9. Hi everyone , i hope someone can help with this, mondeo mk3 tdci 130bhp 02plate, i broke down and called the aa they put the machine on and it came up with crankshaft sensor, so got it to my garage he changed crankshaft sensor and car then would still not start put machine on came up with cam sensor so we changed that car then started, took car from garage ok for about five mins then started running lumpy, took back to garage he couldnt find problem so took it to ford they said it was the glow plugs and the manifiold gasket (after 352.00 of diagnostic checks for this and that) so not being able to afford ford to fix it took it to another garage who did the work and collected the car started it and got the same problem still running lumpy with a little smoke but after 2/3 miles car is fine , but everytime i start it it runs high on revs (around 950) and like a tappit noise from engine its like having a choke on a old car , at the moment it stands me just over £800 in repairs , just cant work out the problem as before it broke down it ran brilliant no tapping ,no smoke ,no high revs, i hope someone can help, i have also changed the fuel filter . thanks
  10. hi , i have a mk3 mondeo which has just had a new crankshaft sensor, on the mondeo when fitting your suppose to leave a one mil gap so has not to hit the flywheel inside the belhouse, maybe this could be the problem , not 100% sure but would check it out all the same, good luck.
  11. hi, does anyone know how much ford charge to go on there diagnostic machine min 1 hour thanks
  12. Hi, just a possible it could be the cam sensor, i had the same problem on mks tdci 02, towed it to garage and he put it on the diagnostic machine and fault came up cam sensor, replaced it andf it started first time , part cost £42.00 from ford, just a guess, good luck
  13. Hi,i had the same problem on a 02 mk3 tdci , then the back windsreen wiper started playing up to, i went to ford and they told me it was the relay(the big grey one at the back of the glove compartment)so i changed it and have never had a problem since. apparrently this relay does a multitude of things but when you go to ford be sure to take the relay in with you cost around £8.50, good luck hope this works please let me know.
