  1. Hi, I believe that it would be possible to piggy-back the 12V+ off the back of the cigarette lighter as I did this with a phone charger. The ground doesn't have to be wired in the the negative, it can connect to a bolt or screw as the entire car is ground to the battery (if you do this make sure the ground as clean and well attached. For the ignition 12V+, you can either connect it to the ignition so it only operates when the car is running, though it depends on how difficult the ignition and wiring is to get to. The other option is to take a second piggy-back off the cigarette lighter and fit a switch so you can manually turn the system on. The issue with this is it depends on how the system operates and whether it needs time to boot up. Not sure about the Reverse 12V though.
  2. The drum brakes on the rear of the Focus and the small discs on the front. Tends to cause the discs to warp as the Focus is not the lightest of cars. Even my older Civic had discs all round.
  3. Depending on how long the engine was lacking oil will depend on what damage would be done. Being a fairly new engine it would suggest potentially more damage could occur as it has not been worn in. If there is permanent damage to the engine, then so long as you did not alter/play with/adjust anything under the bonnet then you cannot be held responsible and as far as I know it is the garages responsibility to ensure a product is fit for purpose it was designed for. Therefore it is up to them to compensate or replace if issues should arise. Although I believe this to be the case, chances are you will require legal backing and should be prepared for a long battle. My father fought Colt Cars (Mitsubishi UK) for over 2 years to resolve an issue with one of their vehicles. If I were you, I would want a replacement vehicle because you never know what could come up in the future. It will be a hassle to get an exchange and if they refuse or you cannot be bothered to fight, get the dealership manager/owner to sign something saying that they will rectify any problems linked with a lack of oil in the engine for the duration of your ownership of the vehicle.
  4. It is very easy. On the inside of the door where you adjust the mirror, pull back the trim from the front and it should come off. Behind the foam and adjustment wire there is a hole. In the hole is a bolt, use a socket and unbolt this. Once removed the wing mirror should just pull away from the door. Fitting is just the opposite. Put mirror in place, do up bolt, re-arrange wire & foam, replace trim, done
