  1. The RF output on the sky box may need a 12v power supply to boost it's strength or The distribution amplifier you currently have; isint compatible with "magic eye" A way to test this is hopefully the magic eye has an led indicator on it; this led only iluminates when the signal for control is linked with the sky box, So working at the distribution amplifier; if you can unplug the feed coming from the sky box's RF output and plug it in to the magic eye, If the magic eye led illuminates; this means the signal is strong enough from the sky box and you need to change the distribution amplifier to one that is "bypass compatible" alternatively If the magic eye led doesn't illuminate; then the signal is weak coming from the sky box and you may benefit from fitting a 12v power supply to the I/O link RF output adaptor. Installing a second sky box will only give you the freeview channels unless you had a subscription card fitted in, a second viewing card can be purchased from sky but this would cost you around 10 pounds extra per month possibly more depending on your current package. Back in the early 90's it was possible to transfer the viewing card between box's just like changing a CD in the radio but sky later stopped this because people were paying for sports and pay per view then bringing the viewing card down to the sky box in the pub for all to watch 😁 Now when you transfer the viewing card to another box you need to phone them up with the box number then they activate to let you use it, This eliminates the option of transferring the one existing viewing card frequently between two box's within the home as may have been the plan for the bedroom box.
  2. 😟I went a bit mad last November and bought a brand new 2TB Sky+HD box from ebay along with three Sky smart eye's for the bedrooms. I had planned on contacting sky only to obtain a viewing card on subscription; but there now offering a free LG 32" TV Model: 32LH510BTV with any skyQ subscription so I'm sort of on the fence 😣 #Dilemma but if I do go for a SkyQ I'll loose the mirror viewing capability and will have wasted money on the three smart eyes and 2TB box, if I could get the sky installer to come out and give me the skyQ kit and free tv without installing or touching anything; I would get the sky card on subscription and sell the Q kit on eBay keeping the free TV Win/Win 😀 I personally prefer to use wired network connection in the home where possible as I'm concerned about wireless signals affecting my young family, there's no proof that WiFi is bad mmkay but I'm sceptical
  3. No problem; First In order to get a coaxial output on the rear of your Sky+HD box you will need to use one of these: Link: http://www.freetv.ie/io-link.html Aswell as additional power supply to boost the signal feeding up to the attic space Link: http://www.freetv.ie/triax-io-link-power-supply/ SKY+HD i/O link Adaptor The distribution amplifier then is usually fitted in the attic link: http://www.freetv.ie/proception-8-way-tv-amplifier-with-bypass/?currency=GBP takes in a coaxial cable from the sky box aswell as a terestrial aerial feed from the roof if desired it then puts that signal out to as much as 8 televisions with the ability to use the sky smarteye on each television to control the main sky box as if it was in that room. The SKY+HD Box in the living room can then be controlled from any bedroom upstairs using a connected "smart eye" aswell as a Sky+HD remote in the room but all watching the same channel on the box. Link to purchase Sky Smart eye: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Latest-New-Genuine-Global-Sky-Product-TV-Link-Sky-plus-HD-Magic-Eye-/331962367037?hash=item4d4a7fbc3d:g:YiYAAOSwf-VWXDpC So for example: Channel "0" on all televisions will display a mirror image from the box on any television throughout the house, If you have an aerial socket in the living room that perhaps ypu dont use; you can use that to send a sky signal up to the attic then plug it in to the distribution amp in the attic.
  4. Sorry for delayed response on this subject; I've been busy at work all week, and i wanted to provide a thougher response as im quite proud of my home installation setup. I purchased 50 metres of webro WF100 twin shotgun coaxial cable from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50m-WF100-TWINSAT-WEBRO-COAX-CABLE-TWIN-SHOTGUN-DIGITAL-/360194816363?roken=cUgayN The normal stuff sky installers use is WF65 or WF80; there good enough quality for short distances but there not as well shielded against 5G Wi-Fi signal compared to WF100 and the reception is better quality. Also I was upgrading the home entertainment network and I wanted to use the best of everything in terms of cables because I was putting them in the wall forever. i also purchased an Octo LNB which is essentially the same as the standard skyHD LNB with the only difference being it has more ports to feed more satellite box's link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-MTI-Octo-LNB-8-Way-for-SKY-HD-FREESAT-SKYPLUS-UNIVERSAL-LMB-/361468620730?roken=cUgayN I will soon be changing that LNB to the newer SkyQ LNB which is required for the newer sky box's but is also bakwards compatible with Sky+HD and FreeSat box's so if your purchasing i recommend this one link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LATEST-2017-BRAND-NEW-SKY-HYBRID-LNB-6-WAY-FOR-SKY-Q-BOXES-AND-SKY-HD-FREESAT-/152520449478?roken=cUgayN The only downsides to fitting a SkyQ LNB rather than the older type are; 1. At present the most available ports on the skyQ compatible LNB is 6 meaning you can only supply three rooms with pause & record 2. SkyQ LNB won't work with what are most commonly known as "dream box's" or "dodgy box's" terms used to describe the decoders which have been tweaked to provide all sky has to offer for free after the initial purchase. Anyway; With twin coaxial satelite feeds running from the dish to various rooms in the house you can fit a sky box in all rooms but an alternative and legal option is a "Humax HDR1100s" link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Humax-HB-1100S-HD-Freesat-HD-Freetime-Receiver-/302276284757?roken=cUgayN They display all the free channels available on satelite aswell as allowing you to pause and record channels aswell as live television. I've got the main sky+HD box in the living room, it is sending a coaxial cable up to a splitter in the attic where it's signal is shared to all televisions along with the terrestrial aerial; This means the sky box in the living room can be viewed on all televisions at the same time watching the same channel, so the freesat box in the rooms provides all the freeview and the subscription is shared. I bought all the parts myself and done all the internal routing of the cables by myself, I put the cables out through the slit vent in the fascia board at the back of the house to be connected to the satellite dish on the chimney. I then contacted a local TV aerial and satellite installer to come to the house, get up on the roof; take away the original sky cable from the front of the house; change the LNB to the octo and connect the new cables. Only cost me €60 for that as I had done the rest of the installation myself and provided the equipment, but any installer can provide all items. overall I've relocated the telephone socket from the hall to the livingroom cabinet; ive fitted three CAT7 network cables from the internet router to each bedroom aswell as a twin sattelite feed and a terrestrial aerial feed, the main Sky subscription in the living room viewing is shared throughout the home. all cables are run inside the walls and attic space, feeding from the floor in livingroom up the partition in the kitchen in to the airing cupboard and up in to the attic. Took me a few weeks to route but was well worth the effort for years to come and i saved alot by doing most of it myself, I'm now free to change between the Sattelite or Telephone line entertainment provider's without the need for any additional installations.

  6. You can install WiFi in the car, I bought a car WiFi kit few years back it's great for Kodi in the car 😁
  7. If the internal amplifier isint what your expecting which can be the case with direct replacement headunits; you can always bypass it by fitting a good brand of amplifier at a later date.
  8. The 10" HD screen was easier to install in the roof lining and is more comfortable viewing for all three rear view passengers rather than 7" headrest screens. The Pioneer headunit itself has alot more options including the ability to play the DVD on screen in the back with audio via headphones while playing another source such as fm radio or Bluetooth stream through the car speakers to entertain front passengers at the same time.
  9. Sorry no i don't mate done it all in my spare time not funded by the forum or any business.
  10. Going on 15 years now; I don't like the wife's family, More recently; I don't like my wife inviting three of her families newly found parteners to our 8yr old daughter's communion of which the celebration is taking place in our own home in three weeks time which I am personally paying for 100% to include bouncing castle yet none of my own family have been invited atall. so basically im paying for 19 people to have sandwiches and cake along with drinks and coffee in my own house😦 3 of those individuals are complete strangers as they are the family parteners and the other 16 hate me 😁 and result it's breaking my heart to dothis but I'm just going to be at the chapel for the ceremonie then I'm getting the bus up to my mother's for the night as I can't stomach the all out stupidity and I'm not going to be here to be ridiculed by a buch of nobody's whom mostly depend on Benefits or still live with mammy since born yet all have an opinion of me that I'm not good enough for there sister or daughter depending on the family member in opinion. I Earn more than adequate income to provide for there daughter and our three children aswell as a mortgage, car and the party there going to be attending. I'm absolutely discusted, our daughter doesn't even know these people or care if they are there but I'm her dad shouldn't I come first. My wife is a complete push over to her mother whom has still some sort of hold on her despite I cater for her every need since 2002 she doesn't rely on them for anything yet im cast aside as the papier

  15. I understand that you need to remove the original temperature sensor and tape it up somewhere out of the way in order to keep the ecu happy, The easiest option for installing the new system would be to purchase this kit from ebay which comes with fitting instructions http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292069240854 if you can measure the thread diameter of the temperature sensor you have; you will then know the size required from the eBay seller I've linked you to there. The easiest way to find out the size would be to bring the sensor to somewhere like B&Q where they have a range of nuts and bolts in little drawers, Search through the nut sizes until you find the size that takes the sensor; you then know the diameter of the sensor and you can contact the eBay seller linked above to purchase the kit containing the correct sized sensor for your specific engine allowing you to install a fully independent wiring kit that has full instructions without the need to purchase anything from a breakers. if the new wiring kit doesnt fix it then the fan itself could be broken.
