      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

    Hey ppl, So we have just replaced the engine in my feista after the last one spat out a piston. However, then engine that is now in there is a dizzy model (slightly older) than the one that came out which was of the coil pack variety. I have sorted a dizzy and that is working fine. The problem came today when i tried to bolt the carb and inlet mainfold to the engine. The carb is off the engine that blew up and we did not get one with the replacement (the older engine). Unfortunatly it appears ford has changed the shape of the inlet to allow room for the dizzy as well as changed the bolt hole positions. Options: 1. Modify existing mainfold (the intakes line up, just not the holes :( 2. Find 1 of the older inlet manifold type... Any ideas? Thanks! p.s. i also need a dizzy clamp if you can help me out with that too?!
  4. So the story: Driving home from guildford my friends fiesta decided to spit out piston 1 all over the road. Several weeks later i am called in to help swap this out for a 'new' engine! Anyway, spent the last 2 days getting the old engine out and new one in. Basically here are the problems, sorry for a relatively quick post, just need to get this out there! Problem 1: The engine that was in the car has a 'dizzy' system i have never seen before (being into older minis i only ever see dizzys). Basically the 4 HTs plug into a block, about 10cm by 5cm and that simply bolts to the engine (just as a mount rather than anything else) now the problem is the 'new' one appears to hae a hole for a dizzy (the standard type i know about ). Need to know what to do about this :P Problem 2: Clutch. As a general test i put the car into gear and pulled it forward, great all the gears work. And in N it rolls nicely (rather than stiffly from turning engine over aswel). However when my beautiful assistant presses the clutch down the car is still stiff to roll.
