  1. I picked one up yesterday £14+vat..Hopefully that will sort it nyck
  2. I've had a knocking/rattle from the rear offside. I thought it was something to do with the Towbar/lighting i fitted...After striping the boot out about 3 times and damaging the shock absorber i think i've now located the source ..But i'm a car numpty so not sure what its called thanks nyck
  3. Mines a 57 plate so i guess the same model. behind the panel Bottom right corner nearest boot lid theres a thick orange wire with a connector on it ,thats the 12v i used.
  4. It's not urgent but i could do with replacing the Under engine cover for my 57 1.8 TDCi. I didn't know if the petrol/diesels covers are the same or even the C-max?? 2005-2008 or later model Also I'm not sure what it's call the plastic shield that between the lower engine cover and the front bumper..it clips into the front bumper and bolts to the mud guards thanks nyck
  5. I had to bite the £1000 bullet well £1052.02 ,They couldn't get a solid flywheel from there suppliers so it had to be another dual mass :( Clutch kit £174.26 Slave cylinder £79.53 flywheel £382.90 Labour £240 +VAT = £1052.02 Its running so much better and the MPG has gone from 35mpg upto 43 mpg .Once my wife starts using for work again i'll will see if the MPG has improved or not. nyck
  6. A= Yes B= not to hard You read my post (My link) Any questions fire away nyck
  7. I was thinking of going down the solid flywheel route .The guy in the garage said there might be a slight more vibration but he thought most people wouldnt even noticed the difference. The way its been running the past couple of weeks a frying pan used as the flywheel would seem better nyck
  8. I fitted a towbar on my 57 plate about a month ago. You can buy a loom kit but they are quite expensive ( click here ) For the older focus they are alot cheaper I used a stantard 7 pin wiring an stotch locks but i did buy one of these ( click here ) as they recommened for lighting systems in newer cars They need a 12volt feed which was thickish orange wire in the bottom right hand corner of the boot nyck
  9. Around a month or 2 I had a very slight knocking sound in the gearbox when the engine was in idle but would go when the clutch was press in.From what read it could been the Clutch release bearing or input thrust bearing. But was fine driving and no problem with the gears.About a week ago car seemed quite shaky and the noise was getting a bit worse with the clutch in or out this time.Friday came and it sounds like a machine gun in the gearbox area. I drove it to a garage who my dad knows and he suspect the Dual mass Flywheel (DMF) is breaking up as the noise goes when revving the engine but starts the knocking noise as the revs drop back below 2k revs.Again ok when driving and the gears select ok. As advised i didnt drive it home again and it's booked in for Wednesday .He said if its the flywheel would i want a DMF again or convert it to Solid Flywheel.I not sure what to do Also the cost is a factor as they done a Vauxhall corsa a month ago and that was around £600 nyck
  10. What happen with your car in the end?? nyck
  11. There should be 4 plastic lugs on the inside boot part of the plastic trim.I used a screw driver to get them out..Be careful they do need a bit of force and they ping off when they come out nyck
  12. Cant wait for report back monday I've got the same/similar noise in my gear box but it the same when cold or been running for a while. You can't hear it when your driving only when i'm parked up and not in gear. It only happens when the revs just go above idle and when the revs drop back to idle.If push the clutch pedal down the noise goes. I've been told it the Release bearing if not the input thrust bearing ,the garage who said it may be the input bearing said its cheaper/quicker to buy a second hand gear box from the scrap yard . I'm a bit gutted as mines only a 57 plate but it has done 54k miles I was going to leave it so see if it got worse ,but reading the replys i sould get it looked at ASAP??? nyck
  13. Here you go I used this youtube video to help as a guide The colour they came as were quite a good match but i also bought same ford touch paint from e-bay and made it look just right. nyck
  14. I'm not quite sure if a need a bypass relay or not ( Focus 57/2007) If i do need one is it the case, just the warning light will come on?? I only use the trailer 5/6 times for the odd tip run ,so i could live with a warning light for 30 minutes or could it do permanent damage if i dont use one thanks nyck
  15. Hopefully fit a towbar and Reverse parking sensors this weekend on my MK2 hatchback Are there any removal diagrams around ..I done a search on here, google youtube and found nothing thanks nyck
