  1. Hi gang: Recently my beloved mondeo had a little accident with a stupid truck. The car had to be put on a cat d :(. I just sold it and the person wanted to get it all fixed and use it again on the road (since it was only the bumper that need to be repaired/changed). Now I have moved on, but not to a completely different car. A car that is using the mondeo's 3.0 engine. I bought a Mazda Tribute. The V6 on that is really powerful, good torque and its a 4x4. It shouldnt have any problem with the engine since its a Mondeo engine. So I have to say Goodbye to you all, but I miss my Mondeo. I do miss it so much :(. I am so happy that I had your help all these time when I had minor problems with my Mondeo. Wish you all good luck and treasure your Mondeos!! Gobster
  2. Hi again guys: Recently my mondeo was hit on the side by a truck. It can still be driven and everything is fine. I got the other person's details and of course claimed his insurance. They had an inspector came in today to have a looked and he said for my mondeo, they will give me 1404 pounds for it and that the car will be put into cat d :(. Right now my worry is can I still drive my car even though it still have very long MOT and long Road Tax. Is it ok if I still drive my mondy on the road? Please help guys. Thanks in advance guys. Please solve my worry Gobster
  3. For the whole job, they charged me 204 quid. so uniparts are not good and i just been ripped off by kwik fit. what a great week
  4. Just finished MOT test....Failed it of cause...it's the rear brakes...I had it repaired straight away in Kwik-fit, but the parts was from unipart. they said it will had life time warranty on the pads n 12 months on the disc. Out of interest, have anyone used this parts before? Are they long lasting? Thanks Gobster
  5. I had a look at the brake unit, and my rear right brake disc have a line of scratch all around the disc, so must be the brake pads that needs changing...maybe even the disc...thanks everyone for helping. Thanks again Gobster
  6. Hi again everyone!! Long time no post cause my car have been all fine, but!! always a but! Today while I was driving, I started hearing some grubbling noise coming from the left rear wheel when i stop at a red light. I think it makes that noise when I brake. The grubbling noise is kind of like something got stuck in the wheel while braking. Is it the brake disc? or the clip on the brakes? I am no car expert, please you guys need to help me. MOT is expiring soon, 1/2 a month. OH NO!!!! HELP!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE Gobster
  7. Thanks for the reply, i was worried too with the price and the diagnose that they did...i will get it to another garage soon. But do you think the front drive shaft wouldn't just break so easily or needed to be changed so quickly? Thank You Gob
  8. Hi all: I am back once again... I had a wheel squeal recently and eventually got to the garage and had it checked, thought it was the wheel bearing thats acting up, but NO!... The garage said all wheel are fine and no movement with them, but when they asked to have a small drive to hear the squeal, they told me it was the drive shaft thats acting up, they said that the left front side drive shaft or half shaft was loose and scratching and had to be changed. I went to the garage hoping to just spend around 100 or less for the wheel bearings, but when they said it was the drive shaft to be changed, they quoted me with a 445 quid including labour!!!!! My question is.... is it common for the drive shaft to break and had to be changed at 95000 miles on the clock? and also 450 quid....is it a fair price? I am no car expert guys, i just want my car to drive fine and no weird things acting up. SO PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP!! Thank you guys Gob
  9. Hi, the squealing i think is coming from the front left wheel bearing. i search the web and it all makes sense. Usual wear and tear, just need to get them replaced. Another symptom of bad wheel bearing is very loose wheel, like when you jack the car up and push the wheel, it will move about all over the place. It there's knocks coming from your wheels, Better get your car checked by a mechanic. Thanks
  10. Thanks for the reply: I am not sure if its the brake pads, because when I brake at those traffic jams, there's no squeal at all. It is when i start to let the car move, that's when the squeal comes in. Also it does gets loud when i just let the car move forward without acceleration. Would it be something to do with barrings or the wheels or something scratching near the front wheel part of the car? I hope these details will help. Please Help. Thanks fishpond 47
  11. Hi all, thanks for helping me in advance: This morning when i started driving, I heard this really annoying squeal from the left side of the car. I thought it was cold so something need to warm up to not squeal. Stuck in the traffic jam, the slow start and stop made this squeal heard more clearly. and later today when i drove back home, i heard its coming from the left front wheel. whenever i go through a right turn, it squeals like something want to come off or something is scratching. PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP...I really need this car for work and taking kids to school. Thank You Gob
  12. Thanks Tom for the reply: Yes the coolant level is way too low when i checked it last week, should've checked when I bought the car a month ago. Got coolant now from Halfords and problem solved. And about the gears problem, got it checked at Kwik-fit and they said its fine, maybe i just need to get use to the gearbox. Something else is worry me now with my car. This morning when i started driving, I heard this really annoying squeal from the left side of the car. Stuck in the traffic jam, the slow start and stop made this squeal heard more clearly. and now when i drove back home, i heard its coming from the left front wheel. whenever i go through a right turn, it squeals like something want to come off or something is scratching. PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP...I really need this car for work and taking kids to school. THANK YOU.
  13. Is worried about my Mondeo. :(

  14. Hi all, thanks for reading in advance! I recently noticed that when shifting to first, second and third gear, there is a small squeak. The gears does shift smoothly, but there is just that annoying sound when changing gear.Is it any problem that I should have it looked at by the professionals? Also, recently it have been extremely cold, and when I start my car up, there is a long squeal, then after a while, it stops. Is it anything again that I need to get it checked? My car have only been recently serviced. Please help me, I love my Mondeo and dont want anything bad happen to her. THANK YOU GOB
