  1. Real bad vibration

As above. It sounds like one or both engine mounts have perished.
  2. Silver Car - many near misses

Not looking forward to driving my white one in the snow.
  3. Nostalgic Purchase - Mk 4 escort.

Great condition. Takes me back XR3i days.
  4. Back to a Focus

After a couple of years enjoying the Beemer I have decided to go back to a Focus. Just put a deposit on a 62 plate ST2. Should be more practical as well as much quicker and hopefully as reliable.
  5. Did I Break My Heater Control Valve?

You could loop the two pipes together but obviously you wont have any heat and as these are so cheap and reasonably easy to replace, you may as well fix it permanently.
  6. Change the expansion tank cap to make sure it holds the pressure. If it doesn't circulate properly you will get hot and cold spots.
  7. What Cars Have You Owned In Your Driving Life.

I'm an old git and I used to get bored easily. Cars were so cheap you could change them every 3 or 4 months without loosing any money on them. I hang on to them now though. The last one I had 3 years from new. The Beemer I have had for nearly a year and a half.
  8. Ka Heaters Not Working

Its most likely the Heater Control Valve. Its a common issue and these cost around £40 to replace. If you look where the pipes run from the thermostat, one smallish pipe runs to the bulkhead. There is another similar pipe next to it coming out. These are attached to the HCV along with an electrical connector. The piston inside gets stuck either in the hot or cold position. In your case it has probably stuck in the cold position stopping the coolant flowing to the heater matrix. These take about 20 minutes to replace.
  9. What Cars Have You Owned In Your Driving Life.

These are the ones I remember. There should be over 50. The last two are the current cars. I haven't included the 10 Motorbikes. 10. Sportka Heating

The usual suspect is the Heater Control Valve. These get stuck and are a common issue on KA's Pumas and Fiestas. They are around £40 and take 20 minutes to 30 minutes to fit.
  11. Passed!

    Congratulations
  12. No Heat, Cabin Pipes Hot.

Heater Control Valve needs replacing. They often get stuck. Should be about £40 from Fords. Ebay ones are cheaper but may not be as reliable.
  13. Ka Luxury 1.3 03 Plate Running Warm

Thermostat housing has a tendency to warp if it is the plastic type and starts leaking. Also expansion tank cap can lose pressure and the expansion tanks sometimes split.
  14. Help Me Find This Strange Car

Could it have been a Serrano. I think it is an SUV based on the GTA game found here: http://gta.wikia.com/wiki/Serrano Someone could have taken a Mercedes SUV and modified it to look like this.
  15. New Ka Ordered

Its 48 months on the KA. They only offer 36 on the Fiesta otherwise we may have gone for that. Maybe its just Lookers who have this agreement: http://www.lookers.co.uk/ford/new-offers/ka/
