  1. Buying a Used Focus...

Bought the car, thanks for your help.
  2. Thing to Look for and Barter against

Thanks for your help. used usedcarexpert as well - check everything, couldn't find a single fault. Bought the car for £3800 in the end - he wouldn't budge!
  3. Buying a Used Focus...

So is the 2.0 ESP a facelift/sports model of the estate? What does ESP do (don;t laugh :)) Haven't seen many, so could only gage the price against the 1.6 and 1.8s.
  4. Thing to Look for and Barter against

Its strange, registered at usedcarexpert and said there was no matches for a report on Ford Focus :)
  5. Thing to Look for and Barter against

Thanks a lot for you're help - very much appreciated! Its had 4 new tyres the one i test drove, but I thought it was pulling a little - maybe they didn't do the tracking on it afterwards!
  6. After a focus estate, not sure on 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 Zetec, but quite like the style on the Zetec and the drive of the 2.0 Zetec was nice. After around a 2002-2005 second hand. When viewing these, what should I look for and what can I barter against - rubbish when get to putting an offer in! Any help would be much appreciated (again!). Belly
  7. Buying a Used Focus...

Hi just visited a 2002 52 Reg FORD Focus 2.0 Zetec ESP Estate up for £3,999 at small dealer site. 45k miles on the clock. Tidy car, but no service history at all - the dealer selling the car had make some phone calls and tracked the last services back (I also phoned the main dealer where the only owner got the car from and they match). My question is should I walk away from this car as lack of service histroy. Also does this open up any room for me to negoiate price (need some tips on haggling as well!). Everything 'feels' right, but want to get an RAC mechanic to check it out, but should I move on? How sure can I be on mileage? Any advice from those in the know will be hugely appreciated! I only know the service miles back to 2006, as that was with the main dealer, after that I do not know IF the previous owner had another service, plus any miles she has or hasn;t done in the last 2 years.
