Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI (2008) - 110BHP Hi, Whilst doing an oil change last week I spotted oil residue on the engine block. I have cleaned most of it off, but highlighted where the residue was. You can still see some oil. The picture of the underside of the engine shield which has an oil stain is the same location of where the oil is ontop of the engine. When i removed the shield under the car, there was also a small oil stain there, which indiciates that it must have dripped from this location. Should I be concerned about this. I haven't spotted any reduction in oil levels.
  2. Ford Focus 1.6D (Dpf) 110 Bhp - Interim Service

Thanks that's just what I needed to know. Thanks for your help.
  3. Hello Members, This is my first post. I have a 2008 Ford Focus 1.6d (DPF) - 110BHP and am due for an Interim service shortly. My current service intervals have been 17k (Interim), 27k (Major) and now approaching 37k my next Interim. I was considering using an independent garage (£59.99) and Ford Garage (£249.99) - when I asked Ford why the interim service was so expensive I was told that my fuel filter needs changing and it's an expensive job ? Is that true? The car will soon be 3 years old and would have covered 37k. If I got this service done at an independent garage, what other jobs not included in a standard interim service should I get done ? Thanks in advance.
