  2. not sure if this is helpful but i had a ford puma a few years back was a 51 plate if i recall correctly. and the abs were a bugger to get out ,if u undo the bolt then they should slide out but on mine both were proper enbeded,i ended up smashing them to get them out and replacing , just try some wd40 and work them out from what i recall it was only the 8mm bolt that needed removing
  3. Hi paul No dont think so mate looking in the user manual it just says Automatic Transaxle/cooling System and then states u need to get it serviced which isnt really helpful. id like to get to the bottom off it and im hoping its not the gear box thats buggered .

  5. GGGGGRRRRRRRR spoke too soon ,the pesky light has come back on ,no trouble codes through the dtc reader .engine management light is off ,its just the exclamation mark light. engine temp gage seems to be ok car seems to run ok .... not sure were else to turn now please help .
  6. replacing the 2 items listed above seems to have done the trick thanks to every one who gave advice
  7. it will only code into 1 car at a time . so once you have coded it to your car you will then need to code it back into his other wise it wont lock and unlock his car.. make sure that your in a decent area as well if theres any kind of interference at all it wont code it. if you can lock and unlock other vehicles were you are then there shouldnt be a problem.

Hi thanks for the replys the temp gage seems ok sits in the middle and dosnt seem to budge at all,car seems to run fine but ive not had it long so not sure if its running normal anyway. i have replaced the 02 sensor and cleared that code whcich turned off the engine management light, i also replaced the resistor pack for the heater and that now works ok, i will give it a drive tommorow and report back thanks
  9. no dont worry about that light thats the pats light ,if the key you have in the ignition isnt reconised by the car then it wont allow you to start it .hence it flashes away at you . but that has nothing to do with coding the remote in . if your getting to the stage of the car been in rpogramming mode,and ur pressing the remote and nothing is happening its ur remote thats at fault .you could take it to a local locksmith who will have an RF remote detector and that will tell you if the remote is sending a signal or not. have u changed the battery in the remote??? and is the battery upside down ???
  10. which light ???? if your just coding the remote eg to lock and unlock the doors ,when u turn the ignition on and off you press the button on the remote and turn the igintion on and off again that codes in the central locking. if your after a key that starts the car then u cannot code a chip in that way . the procudure you mentioned is for only coding in the remote(lock unlock) thats all it does it will not allow you to start the car . just look at is as 2 seperate systems . system 1 code the remote only (LOCK/UNLOCK) system 2 code the transponder chip (START THE CAR) system 1 is what you have been trying to do system 2 is below ,you will need x2 working keys (that start the car) to be able to code in another key,this system only works if u have x2 seperate keys ,(no copyied keys by a locksmith ) im not sure on what year ford disabled this option but i know the system of adding new keys(system 2 ) is not avaliable anymore 1.Insert key A, and turn to Position 2. 2. Turn back to Position 0, and remove key A. 3. Insert key B, and turn to Position 2. 4. Turn back to Position 0, and remove key B. 5. Insert the new slave key and turn to Position 2. 6. Remove new key. Key is now programmed. 7. Procedure can be repeated after 20 seconds, for up to 8 slave keys.
  11. is it the 3 button remote??? or is the flip out key version??? when u turn the igniton on and off 5 times does it beep or do the hazards flash(is there any kind of warning to tell u its in learn mode) if you are getting it in learn mode then it must be the remote at fault ,
  12. 2002 ford focus automatic zetec i was driving today and the light came on (orange light with a exclamation mark)bottom left hand side of the dash board. i have a cheap dtc reader whcih brought up a h20 sensor (oxogen sensor on the exhaust) i have also noticed that the main blowers in the car (hot and cold) only work when on full position 4 and not on anyothers. i have ordered a new sensor for the exhaust and also a new resistor pack for the heater. would the above faults with the car cause the diangsotic light to come on because my dtc reader only flagged up one which was the exhaust p0141 or something along them lines?

Hi can some one shed some light on this problem .. 2003 fiesta lx with the duratech gear box , had problems with it when i first got it . display not showing anything(IE no N ,R, 1st etc etc thought id traced it down to a faulty relay in the main fuse board . swapped the relay around for another one thats exactly the same and hey presto managed to start the car . left it a few minutes tried it again ,fantastic problem solved or so i thought.. took it for a spin down the street and the gear box light came on yellow symble with a line through it and the lcd display showing nothing again. switched the car off waited a an hour or so went back and have the same problem if i switch the ignation on the lcd display comes up then just goes off and i get nothing on the display apart from if i move the gear stick to the left it shows up auto at the bottom off the lcd. can anyone shed any light ????
