  1. Awesome thanks
  2. Hi all, does anyone know the size socket I will need to get the hub nuts off on the front of my 2005 ka Thanks
  3. Amazing thanks! Good idea for the brakes too that was my next thought more power will need more stopping power.
  4. Thanks I would really appreciate it!
  5. Thanks, starting to look around for engines, want something with a bit more poke without having to mess around too much getting it in and going!
  6. I've got a 2005 ford ka and the clutch is now completely gone on the engine and as much as I think I should just replace it to be honest if I'm going to pull the engine out to change the clutch I may aswell just swap it out for something with some actual poke. It's going to be used on the track so I would like something fun and sporty. I know Puma engines are common but are there any other swaps that don't need a lot of messing about to get in?
  7. The tailgate was probably done with some filler and stuff it's easy enough to do. As for the grille I've seen a few on fleabay.
  8. Hi, I will investigate the master cylinder Sunday as I'm hoping its just that that's causing me issues! Thank for the reply!
  9. Hi one and all. I've been having a lot of fun today striping down the ka today ready for the new year track fun, however in the mean time when I went to move the car back into its resting place down the side of the house the clutch pedal had no resistance at all so I ended up pushing the car. 🙄 Before this happened the clutch bite point was literally a inch off the floor. Forgive the armature question but is it the clutch that's gone or is it something like a cable or linkage that's come loose? This is my first car project so I'm trying to learn as I go! 😀
  10. Awesome thanks! Seen clutch kits for decent money so will give it a bash, in the words of clarkson how hard can it be!
  11. This is the hopeful plan with the puma just got to wait until the new year. For the time being I would like to get this engine sorted as its solid apart from the clutch, it drives but it's really hard with the bite being on the floor. 😭 Plus then at least I could sell it as a whole engine clutch gearbox combo when I get the puma! 😀
  12. Hi everyone! I've recently bought a ford ka (2005 1.3) for £50 from my brother in law with the intentions of turning it into a little go cart to go around the track with, the car it self is in decent shape it needs new bumpers as they've seen better days, the interior isn't the best as he's a builder so sadly it's seen its fair share of rubble and dirt. (Not that it matters as I'm pulling it all out any way in the name of weight saving.) Now I know I'm not going to get much power out of the 1.3 lump but I may well Go down the puma 1.7 convert road in the new year. I am in need of some advice, there is something wrong with the clutch in regards of the bite point it's literally 1 inch off the floor and I'm no mechanic in any means but any advice what to start looking at would be amazing! Thanks in advance!
  13. Hi all its been a while since I been on here, but I recently got my old mondeo back (I traded cars with my mum as she didn't like having a big car and I wanted it back till December when I will have the money for a ST 220 TDCI) I have a Y reg mondeo 2.0 petrol duratourq I figured I got some problems with my car that are niggling me. The list of problems are and any help with just one of the problems would be great. I need a new fuel filter Im sure I read that is at the back of the car but some people suggest its in the engine bay. I plan on changing the rear bushes and the front bushes as they are beginning to squeak with some poly ones as I've heard allot of good information about them so I just wanted to know if it was a worth getting them? The rear diver side door doesn't unlock/lock with the central locking it will lock/unlock if you flick the switch (on the door above the handle) I wanted to know if this was a common fault and if there was a way to fix it? I plan on changing the disks and pads (all round) the front driver side is a little warped under heavy-ish breaking it shudders a little (nothing alarming) its just from having bad wheel bearing's (which got replaced as part of the agreement when I swapped cars) whist im doing that im going to change the brake hoses and paint the calipers (either black or silver not chavy orange or something :P) My last question is I want to clean the engine just give it a bit of TLC is there any thing I should do to protect the components I plan on doing it the hard way with the brush not a hose pipe so I will be avoiding getting the ECU and battery e.c.t wet. Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help given :)
  14. Got a new question for you great guys. Im going to put the car in the garage as its under warranty as my new Mondeo has a few little niggles that concern me, but the warranty guys want to know what's causing the fault before they will pay for it to be fixed :( The problems go like this, Both the rear locks wont unlock/lock with the central locking. The fob will lock the car and open the boot but it doesn't always unlock the car maby 25% of the time it works. And every now and again I notice the passenger air bag light is on, on the dashboard which suggests its not working. Any idea's what is causing it?
  15. The fact it has no oil in it concerns me. Does it have any service history with the car?
