Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. 2006 Fiesta Dashboard Clock

For the last few weeks I've noticed the clock on my dashboard slowing down by a couple of minutes each day. I have to keep altering it to the right time daily now. Quite annoying now mind. Any ideas please?
  2. Just priced 2 new back tyres at 80 quid for the pair for the back end of my fiesta. They only have in 205/45/17 stocked at the moment though. The front end tyres are 205/40/17. Is it safe to drive with 2 different size ratios on either end of car? Or should it be completely avoided? Thanks for any tips in advance.
  3. Spark Plug Change

Hello, My spark plugs haven't been changed on my car for 3 years now. I've only done 15,000 miles since mind. It's going in for a service in a fortnight, should I ask for the garage to change them or leave it for a later date? Car seems to be running fine at the moment.
  4. Spark Plug Change

Yes your probably right, for that price I can't go wrong. Where too are they available at that price?
  5. Drivers Side Window

Hi, i have a mk 6 fiesta on a 56 plate. Recently the drivers window has started squeaking when opening and closing. Then yesterday it's gone to more of a crunching sound and wont go all the way down. Any one know if this is a cheap fix with the garage, or would i be better off finding out how to do it myself?
  6. Drivers Side Window

Just had the car back from the garage, £200 down :( they said with most cars you can change just the regulator but with mine apparently the motor also has to be changed.
  7. Drivers Side Window

Thanks all, appreciate the replies. Sounds like a common fault after some google research :(
  8. Tyre Recommendations?

Got my m.o.t coming up in 2 weeks and want to change the tyres before this date. Had it serviced 6 months back and was told 3 tyres will need changing. Is it ok to change just the 3 or would I be better changing the 4? My tyre size is 20540 r 17. Not looking to spend massively but want a bit better than budget tyres.
  9. Tyre Recommendations?

Thanks everyone for the replies. Think I'm going to give the hankook tyres a go from the responses, prices looking pretty decent too. :)
  10. Tyre Recommendations?

Thanks for the reply mate, the newest 1 is fine, but I'm thinking of changing the 4 anyways. My spare wheel is a space saver so the tyre wouldn't fit it as its only a 14/15 inch rim.
  11. Does any one know if I have to replace the whole fascia or can I buy just the heater and attach it separately? My heater isn't working and it looks like the heater cable is bent so it doesn't move when you adjust hot to cold. Basically it's stuck on hot constantly. Doesn't look as if you can just replace the cable easily. Any help? Thanks, Nic.
  12. Fiesta Jerks When Cold/first Started

Mines a 56 plate and was doing the same especially in the cold weather. Had it serviced last month( oil, oil filter, air filter) ford value service £115 which includes 12 month breakdown cover. It's been running perfect since :)
  13. Problem With Heater Dials

Yes i can do that? Just doesnt work when i connect it up?
  14. Problem With Heater Dials

Yeah i had to take the two fascias out to change the cd player(centre and drivers footwell) It's confusing like i said it's connected both ends, it really doesn't make sense.
  15. Problem With Heater Dials

Yeah ive done that, thats how i disconnected it in the first place. Its all connected, the wire just doesnt move the arm though.
  16. Finally got round to changing my cd player yesterday. Bit of a potch with the heater controls, but other than that it was quite straight forward. Decided to go for the single din after because im on a bit of a budget at the moment. More than happy with the result anyways. :)
  17. Fiesta 4500 Radio Finally Upgraded.

    Thanks mate :)
  18. Problem With Heater Dials

It's connected but it doesn't move the arm its attached to?
  19. Problem With Heater Dials

My hot/cold switch is constanly blowing hot? Dont understand because the actual wire is attached to the arm by the footwell? Just can't get it to change, maybe something is broke? As i said its all connected?
  20. Problem With Heater Dials

I have this problem with my hot/cold switch. Its all connected up but the arm which you connect the wire to doesnt move when you change from hot to cold so mine is constantly on hot. Any ideas with this also??
  21. Fiesta 4500 Radio Finally Upgraded.

    The outcome.
  22. Heater Matrix Removal Mk6 Fiesta

Follow the instructions to this fella, easy to do for just removing the dash side of it. Hope this helps :)
  23. Help With Fiesta Mk6 Radio Wiring Harness

Ive got the same 1 aswell mate. I havent bought a cd player to connect it to yet though. I bought mine off amazon and when i emailed the company that supplied it they told me that its just an extra wire that isnt used and that i should just tape it up. I havent been able to get this confirmed anywhere else though...
  24. Ford Value Service

Took my car for a Ford value service today to my local dealer, it cost £115 altogether which they threw in 12 months RAC cover with it to which I was pleased with. Couple of advisories mind being the brake discs and pads need changing very soon aswell as the brake fluid. Does any one know of a good website where I can buy these parts myself? Also, what is it with garages telling you they had to change a rear brake light bulb? It's total bull mine have been changed about 3 times in the last year every time I go to a garage. I even checked them before I went in! Luckily enough they only charge a quid or I wouldn't of been happy.
  25. Mine arrived by post today, but noticed there's also a pink lead attached to it. Any one got an idea where this is for? I thought it was just a simple plug and play situation.
