2001 Fiesta Freestyle in Moondust Silver
  1. Use buttons 1-4 to enter the code and then press 5 to enter it into the system. After 10 incorrect attempts the unit will lock out and you will need to got to a Ford dealer. The engine light will stay on as its recorded into the ECU's memory. Either wait 20 starts or Pay up to £140 to get it turned off by a Ford dealer/Auto Electrician. Shame your not in the Stoke On Trent area as Speedtune would turn the light off for you for £45.
  2. A better way would be to wait untill you've started the car 20 times. If everythings fine after you've replaced the faulty parts the engine management light will go out. Saves pulling the battery and then having to put you radio code in.
  3. Here ya go Loads of em on Ebay :D
  4. You'll be wanting one of these You'll also be needing a wiring harness adaptor
  5. Not sure if its this your looking for ???
  6. Going to do this to mine soon. Theres a few on Ebay qite cheap. They come off the Fiesta Ghia model and the bracket is next to the glovebox latch. Put the light in there and route the wires through the top of the glovebox and take them to an earth and a live (cigarette lighter is usually a good easy one or the clock)
  7. Esure did a good quote for mine this year. I'm 31, 9 points, 1 at fault claim in the last 12 months and 3 years no claims. Was quoted £405 fully comp with all the extras (hire car etc)
  8. Shouldn't make much difference. Over 30psi and you will have less grip on the front and the steering will be too light.I would say the same goes for the rear as well. Usually theres me, the missus and my daughter in the car but I've always kept the same pressures regardless of the cars load.
  9. Which body shape is your car ? MK3 (1989 - 1996) or MK4 (1994 - 1999) Another place you could read up on is:
  10. I use 26psi on the rear and 28psi on the front on my Fiesta. Its not far off the recommended pressures AFAIK.
  11. The 'water' might be unburnt petrol. It possibly could be running too rich.Have the car checked out with some diognostic equipment to see if the engine is running/set up properly. If you have a local mobile engine tuner in your area.Give them a ring and see how much it will be for them to plug into your car.I know of one in my area (my dad, family business) that charges £45 an hour to check the car over and set it up properly so expect to pay near that.
  12. Has anyone done this ? Still not got around to doing it so any help would be great :)
  13. If the car had rear speakers as standard they will be in the 1/4 pannel behind the carpet. If it didn't come with rear speakers then there wont be any wiring loom there although the grills + screw holes in the side trim will be present.. You can get speaker adaptor rings to fit aftermarket speakers into the side trim panels and routing the speaker wiring to the front is a very easy job to do :) Another way is nip to your local scrappy and have a look in some of the Festa's. I managed to get some standard rear speakers for £1 each and also part of the loom for each side with the original plugs on as someone had cut the speaker wires on my car. Fit the speakers and solder the original speaker plugs to some speaker wire (quite cheap to buy at halfords) and route the speaker wiring to the front of the car :)
  14. Just wondering if someone can tell me how the handbrake handle comes off my Fiesta Freestyle. Its a 1.25 Zetec. I cant get the plastic handle to budge. Does it slide off (with some force) or does it have to be cut off ??? Reason I want to replace it is that I've managed to get one of those Richbrook Ford branded handbrake handles quite cheap (£12 delivered) and the original handbrake handle has to be removed to fit it. Thanks
