  1. where is my controls

  2. No, it doesn't make me feel any better and I've just chatted to another Focus owner who has just had his first service carried out and it was the same price as yours (£128). Like you, I am surprised and disappointed that Fords pricing does not seem to be standard. Just filled out my customer satisfaction survey on my service so you can imagine what I have said about it. It's my own fault I suppose, for not getting a quote for the service, but I believed it was a standard cost determined by Ford. I will be more careful next time in my choice of who I give the work to. And, even though my Focus is really good, I may be changing to another manufacturer for my next car because of this. Oh well, you live and learn.
  3. Just had my first year service carried out on my 2011Focus Titanium X 2.0 D, by a Ford main dealer. The cost for what is basically an oil change? £225 !!!!!!!!! No this is not a typing error, £225 !!!!!!!! How on earth can Ford justify this cost and more importantly for Ford, how can they retain their customers when they are subjected to this sort of rip-off charge. Rant over, but I may be going back to VW for my next car.
  4. Hi Allen, as I said, I have the Sony unit not the Ford one, but my colours are also blue and black, and there doesn't seem to be any difference between day and night. I must admit, the colours do not seem very natural and I also would be interested in any way to get brighter colours in the display if anyone knows how. As far as I can see, there is not a menu item to change the colours or even differentiate between night and day. Tony
  5. Hi Alan, I don't know about the Ford Sat Nav as my Focus has the Sony unit, but on the Sony there is an option in the menu to change the contrast. This makes it not so dark looking, there may be something similar on the Ford unit. Hope this helps, Tony
  6. Hi Chris, thanks for your reply. As for the voice being the same, the female voice from the Sat Nav directions, does not appear to be the same female voice that you get when you want to make a telephone call etc. I was just hoping that one could personalise the unit with new voices as you can on most other Sat Navs. Interesting point about modifying firmware though, I sure there are people out there in Internet land who will eventually come up with lots of goodies that can be changed on this unit. Thanks again.
  7. Wow, super quick reply, thanks Paul, just tried it and it works (my ears will be so much better now). Why oh why couldn't they have put that in the manual. Thanks again.
  8. Just taken delivery of Focus 2.0 Titanium X with the Sony SAT NAV. After having a VW SAT NAV before, I must say that I'm not too impressed with the Sony unit in the Ford. The manual is not a lot of help, so I have 2 questions if anyone can help. 1. Is there any way to change the voice on the Sony unit, the woman seems to have an Indian accent sometimes, which I don't really like. 2. How on earth do you turn the volume of the announcements down, it hurts the ears at present, there is absolutely nothing in the manual on this. I hope that someone can help, thanks.
